J. Norwell Coquillard

Senior Advisor

J. Norwell Coquillard has over 30 year’s experience in doing business in Asia. He most recently served as the Chairman and President of Cargill Investment (China) Limited. In addition to his role, Mr. Coquillard supervised the Corporate Affairs function in China that consisted of Cargill's government affairs, media relations and corporate responsibility functions.

Prior to his arrival in China in 1998, Mr. Coquillard served as the country manager for Cargill operations in Japan and Korea from 1984 until 1997. During his period in Korea he successfully started up two new businesses for Cargill. In Japan he supervised a major turn-around for Cargill's businesses there which created a very strong and vibrant business model which is still effective for Cargill in Japan today. In China Mr. Coquillard led the expansion of Cargills’ China operations from 300 people to over 5,000. Mr. Coquillard was an active leader of Cargill's corporate responsibility efforts which resulted in Cargill China winning the U. S. Secretary of State's Award for Corporate Excellence in 2008. Mr. Coquillard was also recognized by the Shanghai Municipal Government as one it's leading foreign citizens.

He also served as the Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai for 2008 and 2009. In addition to his role as Chairman, he served as an officer of the Chamber in 2003, 2004 and 2007. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Chamber’s Food, Agriculture and Beverage Committee. Mr. Coquillard is the current Chairman and President of Enactus China an international NGO which is supported by companies such as Unilever, Walmart, Rich Products, Cargill, Bunge, Pepsi, Coke, ADM and many more.

Mr. Coquillard is a graduate of Dartmouth College in the United States. During his University days, he studied in Singapore and Indonesia. He has also travelled extensively throughout Asia, both as a student and for business.

Michael Thurow

Senior Advisor

Michael Thurow is a native of Sweden and has over 30 years of international experience within the banking, insurance and manufacturing industries. He has held executive leadership functions and senior appointments in Sweden, Bahrain, USA, Australia, Singapore and currently in China. Mr. Thurow is currently a Senior Advisor for InterChina Partners as well as the Six Year Plan. Mr. Thurow is the Founder of Thurow Management Partners (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and a Board Member of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce, Shanghai Chapter. He is also a member of ERFA-group China, a Swedish executive experience sharing group led by the University of Stockholm.

Previously, Mr. Thurow served as the Executive Vice President and Board of Director Assignments (Finland, Ukraine, Russia, China) for Sanitec OY. He was also the Senior Advisor, Legal Representative and Chairman of Sanitec Trading (Zhongshan) Co., Ltd. China. Mr. Thurow also served as the Senior Advisor and Board Director of Sanitec Ukraine. Prior to that, Mr. Thurow served as the CEO (Sweden) and Managing Director of Marsh AB. Mr. Thurow had also served in various executive positions for Skandinaviska Enskilda Banke across the world including in Sweden, Bahrain, USA, Australia and Singapore.

Mr. Thurow has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Lund, Sweden.


Kim Woodard

Senior Advisor

Kim Woodard is Chairman, CEO, and founding partner of Javelin Investments, a boutique investment advisory firm established in 1999. He is concurrently a Senior Advisor with InterChina Partners. He has thirty years of business experience in China, primarily in mergers and acquisitions, corporate investment planning, and business strategy. He has served as a Vice Chairman and a Member of the Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Beijing and as Vice Chairman of the Financial Services Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce, Shanghai Chapter. He is also a founding member of the Board of Directors of ACG China and the Chairman of its Membership Committee.

Dr. Woodard was previously Chairman and General Manager of AMP China Investment Company, the holding company in China of AMP Incorporated, the world's leading producer of electronic and electrical interconnection products (now Tyco Electronics). He was also responsible for strategic planning, project development, and government relations in China for AMP. Dr. Woodard previously worked, also in China, for John Deere and for A.T. Kearney. From 1989 to 1995 he was Director for A.T. Kearney China, in which he helped to open the China market for Kearney.

Dr. Woodard holds a Ph.D from Stanford University in International Relations. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and first traveled to China in 1971 at the invitation of the late Premier Zhou En-lai. He has lived and worked in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing for the past 20 years, and has established his long-term residence and home in Beijing.
