Jan Borgonjon is one of the Founding Partners and President of InterChina, providing overall leadership and strategic direction to the firm. Since founding InterChina in 1994, Mr. Borgonjon's vision and leadership have established InterChina as one of the leading advisory firms in China.

He has been instrumental in closing acquisitions and investments of over USD 1 billion on behalf of clients and continues to advise a large number of multinational corporations on their strategy and operations in China, actively supporting ongoing engagements.

Given his on-the-ground experience in working with Chinese ministries and large companies, he has a particularly strong understanding of the operational practices and dynamics of large Chinese companies and governmental organizations. His specific sector expertise includes automotive, machine tools and industrial equipment.

Mr. Borgonjon pioneered business education in China during the 1980's as the Director of the China Europe Management Institute (CEMI) in Beijing. He continued along this path as one of the founders and the first President of the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), China's top ranked business school, where he continues to serve on the Board of Directors until 2015.

He was elected Vice-President (2002-2004) and Executive Committee member (2004-2006) of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China. He also established the Belgian Business Association in China and is an active member of a large number of trade organizations, including the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in China and the U.S.-China Business Council. In 2016 he was awarded the Commander in the Order of Civil Merit of Spain.

Mr. Borgonjon holds an MBA from Henley Business School, UK and a BA in Chinese Studies from Leuven University, Belgium. Mr. Borgonjon speaks English, Chinese, Dutch, French and Spanish and has been living and working in China for nearly 40 years.
