Chinese Walls: Decoupling, Localization and ‘Being Chinese’

The changing relationship between the US and China will be profound and enduring and reinforces the need to decouple and further localize Chinese operations, including in more general sectors such as automotive or domestic appliances. Decoupling and localization requirements vary from company to company however, and most multinationals lack internal consensus and are confused about how to tackle it. Therefore, a clear decoupling and localization road map should be the top priority of any global CEO and company board with an interest in China.
